Updating Blog

In the sidebar I have quite a selection of links. My section on "News and Analysis" became over three hundred links.

I am currently in the process of reorganizing and updating links, as well as working on other issues. One aspect of this is to break the "News and Analysis" section down into more manageable chunks, while moving some links from there to other widgets that are more appropriate.

As this is ongoing, some links are unavailable. Please excuse any inconvenience, and please feel free to leave any suggestions for links.

Thanks!

Blog Updates

I am continuously updating the blog.

It is not so much a question of posts (bloggers post new updates daily, and some post even more often than that) as it is a question of the sidebar.

New widgets get added to the sidebar fairly often, and there is ongoing maintenance to the links provided.

Today, I have added in a widget linking to the election offices for all fifty of the US states. This widget is currently right next to the widget with links to the state court and judicial systems.

The FEC link can be found with the US government links. Also, there is a miscellaneous resource widget that has links to sites that provide information on money in federal and state politics, as well as a plethora of other links.

There is an international news and analysis widget, and it has a great many links to international news sources and various blogs and other sources. More news and analysis links can be found in the widgets for individual US states and for various countries, which are organized by continent (for this purpose, I take the Suez Canal as the boundary between Africa and Asia, so Israel is in Asia, and Egypt in Africa).

The links alone make my blog worth bookmarking. Whenever I want to know what is going on anywhere in the world, I start at and from my blog. ;)

There are excellent sites linked in the sidebar that provide links to campaigns for federal and various state elected offices. It is not my intention to duplicate (mainly, copy) the excellent work done elsewhere. However, I do have many links to many races for US President, US Senate, US House of Representatives, to various races for state offices, and to some national and state political parties and political action committees. If you have a link you would like to see in the sidebar for a polical campaign, please leave a comment, preferably including the URL.

Especially, if you have a link to an NGO, a news source, a think tank, a recommended blog, a government or international entity, etc., please leave a comment with the URL.

Coming soon will be more links to government and political websites in the non-US English-speaking world.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Behind the Scenes

That is where the action is right now.

Not a lot of blogging, but a tremendous amount of research.

And certain themes just keep coming to mind...

Meanwhile, new links are being added almost every day to the sidebar - enjoy!

Sidebar, Links, Philosophy

Blogging has been light lately.

As I started looking at what was going on in Africa, I realized how inadequate for the task my reference links from the blog were, so there has been a great deal of work sunk into finding new sources and organizing them better.

In addition to well over 200 international news and analysis sources near the top of the sidebar, there are also numerous news links for the US Southwest border region - this was nice to have when the Tucson shooting incident developed, because I didn't have far to go for local news.

Below that are sections for computer and technology news and resources, science and technology news, business reference resources and dedicated business news and analysis.

Then there are US government and then miscellaneous resources and links, Southwest (Arizona - other states to follow) law enforcement, then sections dealing with politics in the US and in the UK, then widgets dealing with regions and countries, and then the rest.

All of this is still under development. :)

Even if you don't like my writing and my research, hopefully you will visit my blog as one-stop shopping for good sources of information.

When I do research, I really dig. The MSM is biased, there are subjects they won't touch, and reporters these days have a reputation for needing to be spoon-fed (there are exceptions), so if you really want to know what is going on, you have to research for yourself.

We can no longer delegate to the MSM our inalienable right to question and criticize our government, because the MSM is owned by the same elites who have bought and paid for our politicians on both sides of the aisle.

If you have any suggestions for links, please let me know.

Links and Comment Policy

I continuously update the sidebar with additional links.

First of all, there is an extensive set of links for news, analysis and commentary from around the world. I have tried to get off the beaten path, and provide links to news sources that most Americans would not normally have in their favorites list on their computer. A main focus has been local news sources from regions that seem to play an important role in current events.

In this context, I have a widget linking US regional news sources from the southwest and border area, as illegal immigration is becoming quite a problematic issue. Related issues include drug trafficking and the trafficking of other contraband, and the related political corruption (though this latter topic seems to get less coverage). For further information, I am linking law enforcement agencies, beginning with those that deal with border issues, and have just finished linking every sheriff's office in Arizona, as Arizona seems to play an especially pivotal role right now.

There are also widgets dealing with Afghanistan, India and Pakistan, as the dynamic interplay of these three countries seems to have quite an impact on the world today. I may add other widgets for other countries.

I have a list of links to UK political parties, and am considering adding widgets for political links from elsewhere in the anglosphere.

Meanwhile, I have begun a list of links for US political websites. The focus here is on national websites or websites for issues or campaigns of national importance. For example, I am not terribly interested in every sheriff's race in every county in the US, but the sheriff's races in counties near the Mexican border are of interest due to the issues that they involve.

On that note, I try to provide links to as many sides of an issue as I can. My news links are from around the world, both geographically and ideologically; similarly, I tried to link every UK political party of even remote national importance.

I am also trying to provide links to other resources, but have not yet really begun to organize this.

If you have any suggestions, please leave them as a comment, or email me (earlylight21 -- yahoo -- com), or let me know via my Facebook account which you can find via my email address. At this point, I would rather include a link that may be of little use than exclude a link that could be important, so I am erring on the side of putting the links in; that could change very fast.

Please note: I want this blog to be a free speech zone. Linking to a website does not necessarily mean I endorse any of the material found there; the links are provided for my reference and for the reference of my readers.

I have a similar view of comments, but will delete comments that seem to be just ads disguised as comments, and may (or may not) delete comments with excessive profanity, that call for violence or illegal activity, etc.

I encourage disagreement, because the crucible of debate is key to arriving at the truth, but please keep it civil.
